Students will turn in the postcard example from Vexels.zip as part of this lab.
In this students will create a postcard / advertising / flyer for a business, band or artist. Students will combine raster images ( images in Photoshop) within vector elements such as a logo and typography applied to the document.
Students will start with a raster image inside of Adobe Photoshop. Student are highly encouraged to manipulate and extend the image using Photoshop drawing, selection, retouching and adjustment tools. Students will then bring the image from Photoshop to Adobe Illustrator.
This is in theory a printed object so the image should be set to a resolution/ pixel density of 300dpi and a color space of CMYK.
The documents will be 6 inches x 4 inches with 1/8 inch bleed. The postcard / advertisement / flyer MUST include
- Images edited and brought in from Adobe Photoshop
- At least ONE vector element such as a company logo, symbol
- Type must be laid out with Adobe Illustrator
- Raster image should be embedded inside the AI file
- AI files
- PDF file
- Exported PNG file
